PRAYER UPDATE FOR CRAWFORD FAMILY

We will be taking our son, Ben, to Fairview Baptist Bible College in Jamaica on September 5 for college.  Pray that God will use this year to challenge and direct Ben spiritually; also pray that he will stay healthy and uninjured.

  1. Our daughter, Elizabeth and husband Drew, are expecting their first child October 22.  Also pray for them as they adjust to their new home in Lafayette, IN and new role as Youth Director at Kossuth Street Baptist Church.
  2. We are working on putting together next summer’s Southeast Asia team.  Pray for wisdom as we seek team members and all the details that go with this.
  3. ABWE’s constructions efforts in Haiti – Gary will be leading a pre-construction team on October 25 to lay the groundwork for construction of a church in Dumay.
  4. Pray for opportunities to get into churches to share our ministry.

Haiti Update from Gary Crawford

– Dear Friends and Family,image

Please excuse my spelling etc. as I am trying to write and send this e-mail via my cell phone.

First let me say thank you for your prayers on behalf of our team and on behalf of Haiti. We have been acutely aware and deeply grateful for God’s protection and watchcare over us.

We are staying at Baptist Haiti Mission (BHM) just 12 miles outside of Port-Au-Prince (PAP). Our living conditions have been much better than we expected to find.  BHM is at an elevation of 4500 feet so the nights and most days have been cool and without mosquitos. Much hotter when we have been in PAP or at lower elevations.

There are 5 missionary families here at BHM who are a precious and humble group of servants. They have been under staffed and overwhelmed with the magnitude of work since the earthquake (EQ) on January 12.

Your 1% Could Make a Difference |November 2009 Update

Dear Friends,
One purpose, one team, one step of faith, and one percent at a time. Will you join us?
“…that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Please allow us to share a few testimonies of those who have served with us on a short-term mission team:

“I feel like I am more comfortable sharing God’s love and the salvation plan with others.  I think it has helped me be bolder in my faith.”
“It was a wonderful experience and I think it has changed us all.”
“I learned that being a part of God’s salvation process is really exciting. I have known that some plant, some water and some reap. For the first time I think I truly felt like I was a part of that process.”
“What an amazing week and journey this has been…God has once again proved Himself faithful to His call.”
“One does not easily write in a couple of paragraphs what God does in a person’s life by experiencing a short-term mission trip. Why? Because what God does changes a person for the rest of their lives and has eternal benefit.”
