PRAYER UPDATE FOR CRAWFORD FAMILY

We will be taking our son, Ben, to Fairview Baptist Bible College in Jamaica on September 5 for college.  Pray that God will use this year to challenge and direct Ben spiritually; also pray that he will stay healthy and uninjured.

  1. Our daughter, Elizabeth and husband Drew, are expecting their first child October 22.  Also pray for them as they adjust to their new home in Lafayette, IN and new role as Youth Director at Kossuth Street Baptist Church.
  2. We are working on putting together next summer’s Southeast Asia team.  Pray for wisdom as we seek team members and all the details that go with this.
  3. ABWE’s constructions efforts in Haiti – Gary will be leading a pre-construction team on October 25 to lay the groundwork for construction of a church in Dumay.
  4. Pray for opportunities to get into churches to share our ministry.

Graef August 2010 Update

Just last week we celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Romania and we are amazed at what God has done!  The language is harder than we expected, but we are making strides.  Our ministry has far exceeded our goals for the first year!  We assumed that the first year would be just learning the language and getting settled into a new culture, but we have helped in 3 church plants, I preach 2 times per month, I teach a group of 15 college age people at our bible study, I have been involved in 6 weeks of camp, taught at 5 retreats including a high school retreat, music team retreat, and a pastor’s retreat with over 50 pastors and wives.  I have had the privilege of leading nearly a dozen to the Lord.  I have helped one church to start a missions team that is now preparing to go into Turkey on a missions trip.  I have also trained one young man to teach and prepare sermons.  He and his new bride are talking about full-time ministry.  Please understand, when I say that “I” did these things, I do not mean in my strength, or with my abilities.  I simply mean that God has used my wife and I to do these things when we didn’t expect it this year!  God is amazing.  We do nothing without His strength and I believe the prayers of His people make all the difference.  If people did not pray for us, we would not be able to do anything!  So, thank you for your prayers!

Magnifying Christ in Brazil

August 2010

Dear brother and sisters in Christ,

Thank-you for praying!  We believe God worked powerfully in our midst as we endeavored to proclaim the gospel in two weeks of kids’ clubs.  In our first week we dealt with at least 35 kids who had probably never heard the gospel.  We had decided to use a local park, since we did not know of a building in the area that we could use.  The rain threatened to stop our efforts, which kept us constantly looking to God for faith and wisdom.  We are thankful to God for sending us a team of young people from São Paulo to help us with this outreach.
